Congratulations, you are getting new flooring! Now what? There are a few steps to take in order to prepare for your new flooring installation, and our team at University Flooring Center is here to help. Here are some tips to help you along the way:
- Clear the Room – It is important to clear the area where the new flooring is to be placed of any furniture, breakables, or valuables so our team can work efficiently.
- Who should be there? – It is important that the homeowner or a responsible adult be there at the time of flooring installation to ensure everything goes smoothly. Who shouldn’t be there? We care about the safety and wellbeing of your loved ones, including your pets! Please make sure the area is clear of others so we can safely install your new floors.
- Painting – If this is a new build, we prefer to install flooring before painting. Installing flooring involves a lot of boxes and tools, running the risk of messing up any paint jobs.
- Remove Old Flooring – If you are replacing flooring, you will need to make arrangements for the disposal of your old flooring. Installers may be able to provide this service for you, so please give our team at University Flooring Center a call to discuss your options.
We hope these tips help you prepare for your flooring installation. These tips will not only prepare you, but it will also allow our install team to work safe and efficiently to install your new product. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the install process, please give our team at University Flooring Center a call!
